Relaxation Exercises

Relaxation Instructions

1. Lie down in a comfortable position and set an alarm for 15 minutes.  This exercise should be done twice a day.

2. Repeat as you breathe in "I AM"; Repeat in your mind as you breathe out "RELAXED".  I am relaxed; Repeat in your mind, "I AM" as you breathe in and the word "RELAXED" as you breathe out.  Repeat the above word, "I am relaxed" ten times.

3. After the repetition of the words, "I am relaxed" ten times, repeat three times, "MY ARMS AND LEGS ARE WARM AND HEAVY".

4. Next repeat "MY ABDOMEN IS WARM" three times.

5. Repeat three times, "MY FOREHEAD IS COOL".

6. Repeat three times, "MY BREATHING IS SLOW AND REGULAR."

7. Repeat three times, "MY THOUGHTS ARE CALM".

After you have finished this sequence, start over again with the words "I Am Relaxed".
